The short story format is not only a marvelous writing mechanism for the imagination to flow, but is so structured that I have found it useful in nearly everything I write from short fiction to technical writing to mazazine articles. Once a writer has learned the skill of finding the focus, zeroing in on the climax, and mastering the simplicity of story telling - it can be used in nearly every writing situation.

I went back to the university in the early 1990s to complete undergraduate work in fine arts. I managed to squeeze in a writing class every semester until I knew I wanted to stay in school and get a masters degree in creative writing. California State University at Fresno has one of the top creative writing options in the nation, and I was privileged to work with Steve Yarbrough and Lisa Weiland who have become well known for their creative efforts.

The stories in this collection are all based on Relationships - some difficult ones and some delightful and funny.
